The countdown is on!

Just two more days, or as a co-worker of John's put it, just two more wake-ups. Hard to believe we are this close. I've been working on getting ready for the party and its been a little stressful. So why did I think a party was a good idea??  I will enjoy getting to see friends before taking off and it will be good to have our boys around for the weekend. We are putting them to work at the grills for the party. John will have a little party at work on Friday too. After 35 years with Rockwell Collins, I think he deserves it. Well I'm off to do more prep.

  5. Congratulations! Well deserved, especially after 35 years!! We had a little farewell party/open house and we thought the same thing...why are we making so much work for ourselves?? But it was fun and I'm glad we did it. Try to relax and enjoy it. You'll be rolling away soon enough!

  6. Just found your site again. My computer crashed a couple of months ago & lost the bookmark. Went back and read all the entries, so by now, congrats on the retirement. I hope that your travels are safe & pleasant. I retired last year & am making arrangements to fulltime by next spring, if the house sells. Hope to see you out there.

  7. Congratulations on your retirement John!!! I have enjoyed following your blog. Janie I enjoy your pictures. Wish I could be with you guys when you visit the national parks. They are so beautiful and offer a great opportunity to take pictures. Ansel Adams took some of his most famous pictures at the national parks. Best wishes to you guys and looking forward to follow you guys around the country.
